Microsoft is hosting an AI event on March 16 to learn more about the future of AI at the American giant.
Now that Microsoft has shown how artificial intelligence will change Bing search, the American giant is ready to reveal how this technology can affect your work. The Redmond-based firm is hosting the Future of Working with AI event on March 16 at 5:00 pm French time. Microsoft didn’t go into details about the announcements, but the presentation will be hosted by CEO Satya Nadella and Microsoft 365 head Jared Spataro.
On March 16, Microsoft is hosting an event on artificial intelligence.
A leak from The Verge last month hinted that Microsoft could introduce artificial intelligence versions of Microsoft 365 apps like Outlook and Word. Without knowing the exact features, The Information claimed that Outlook could use AI to improve search results and suggest replies in emails. On the other hand, Word can make suggestions to your text.
The company is also launching other features for AI-related companies. Dynamics 365 and Viva Sales now have an AI co-pilot that helps respond to customer conversations and emails, can wrap up Teams meetings, and explore marketing data. These features are based on the existing Azure OpenAI service, while Microsoft 365 features will be built on the Prometheus model used by Bing.
Opportunity to learn more about the future of AI at the American giant
This expansion around intelligence is not a surprise at all. Microsoft has been steadily integrating AI into services like Teams for some time now and has been investing in OpenAI for several years now. The US giant is said to have recently committed to multi-year funding totaling $10 billion that will allow Microsoft to host OpenAI cloud services. The company aims to become a leader in the field of artificial intelligence and this event is designed to help advance this entire strategy.
Competition in this market is already fierce. Other companies are integrating the OpenAI ChatGPT algorithm directly into their products. Google, for its part, introduced Bard, a ChatGPT counterpart, in an effort to see growth in interest in these technologies, seeing them as a real threat to their core business of research. Increasing the use of artificial intelligence could help Microsoft overtake its competitors and be well ahead of this nascent technology.
