Looking for cool and inexpensive ideas for a great New Year’s Eve? Here are 5 ideas that might interest you.
Since we have just come out of the Christmas break, we should prepare to do it again in a few days for the New Year. Preparing a party for the New Year is not easy, it may even seem impossible to some of you, especially after a long period of preparation for Christmas with all the ensuing consequences. However, you can have a good evening for less. Here are five cool and inexpensive ideas to get the most out of it.
Whether you’re spending the evening in a small group with friends or family, or inviting more people, these activities will keep everyone entertained for the rest of the night. Read on to prepare for a night worthy of its name.
Create your own photo booth
You don’t need to rent a real photo booth to create great photo memories. Creating your own photo booth in a well-lit area of the house is quite simple. All you need is a background like wrapping paper or balloons or whatever. You can use your smartphone or tablet to take photos if the application you are using has a self-timer. You can also use an instant camera so your guests can take photos at home.
Watch fireworks from all over the world for free
Jumping into the New Year with fireworks is always great fun, but not everyone necessarily wants to go out into the cold to enjoy it. And instead of buying everything you need to make your own fireworks – which can be dangerous and sometimes forbidden – you can watch fireworks in full from the comfort of your own home.
For example, Disney World usually streams its fireworks online. In New York, the celebrations in Times Square are also widely covered by the television media. On December 31st, you can also visit the New Year’s Eve Live website to see all the streaming options available.
Bengal lights or party confetti
Still want to have a little fireworks show? Buy sparklers that everyone can light when the time comes. Be careful of your surroundings, but don’t start a fire.
If you can’t or don’t want to use sparklers, you can always go for confetti. The downside is that cleaning needs to be done the next day. If you’re out and about, opt for biodegradable confetti.
Watch vacation movies for free
Most streaming services have vacation movies in their catalog, be it Disney+, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, Peacock, Paramount Plus, and more. If you are not subscribed to any of these services, be aware that most of them offer free trial periods. And if a friend or loved one has an account, they can stream their smartphone to your TV.
Keep everyone busy with party games
If you have several or many guests, you can play online games on your phones. Jackbox games are a good option. You can download them to your Fire TV, Apple TV, PlayStation, Xbox, and more. And up to 10 people can play at the same time. You can even invite people to play remotely using a live streaming service like Zoom.
