MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ SoC unveiled with 3.2GHz CPU and 10% faster GPU

MediaTek has updated its line of flagship mobile smartphone processors with the new Dimensity 9000+ SoC. The new MediaTek SoC is a new flagship processor that will appear in several premium smartphones later this year. As the name suggests, SoC Dimensity 9000+ is an improved version of SoC 9000.

The chipset features enhanced performance with a focus on energy efficiency. MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ is integrated into ARM v9 CPU architecture. It is based on a 4nm process technology. Let’s take a look at the MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ SoC specs, features and other announced details.

MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ is the new flagship SoC

MediaTek has unveiled the new Dimensity 9000+ SoC. This chipset will replace the Dimensity 9000 as the company’s flagship chipset. Based on a 4nm process, the SoC has a single Cortex-X2 core clocked at 3.2GHz. There are three high performance Cortex-A710 cores and four efficient Cortex-A510 cores. MediaTek has integrated ARM Mali-G710 GPU for graphics.

The chipset ships with the Imagiq 790 Advanced Image Signal Processor (ISP) with support for 18-bit HDR video recording. Users can record 18-bit HDR video from up to three cameras at the same time. The chipset also supports a 320MP camera sensor and 4K HDR recording. It can also record 8K video at 24fps.

Dimensity 9000+ SoC supports 144Hz WQHD+ display or 180Hz Full HD+ display. The 5G chipset has an upgraded network modem and supports Bluetooth 5.3, WiFi 6E, etc.

Smartphones with the new MediaTek chipset will be released in the third quarter of 2022. There is currently no official list of smartphones that will feature the Dimensity 9000+ SoC.

The chipset was launched around the same time that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC will debut in several smartphones starting next month. Companies such as Xiaomi, Realme, Motorola, and iQOO are expected to release their Snapdragon chipset-powered flagship smartphones in July and August 2022.
