Dying Light 2 gameplay video released, giving us a glimpse of new parkour skills and zombie-killing mechanics
Dying Light 2 Stay Human, the sequel to Dying Light from 2015, will release in February 2022. However, as the launch date approaches, the developers are teasing more and more content from the game on YouTube called Dying 2 Know.
In the latest episode of Dying 2 Know, we’ll be seeing some gameplay from Dying Light 2 that might be tempting to many. The gameplay video shows impressive melee kills, as well as the ability to park and dodge enemies. The game is set in a post-apocalyptic world where the Harran virus has infected many, and the main character of the game, Aiden Caldwell, goes in search of his sister Mia.
The gameplay video allows us to take a look at one of the Dying Light 2 quests called A Place to Call Home, after which Senior Producer Cornel Jaskula shares some of his thoughts.
The quest seems to be from the very beginning of the game, and it is clear that the city, crippled by the pandemic, is returning to normal. But since the game is called Dying Light 2, the city lights go out again and the game starts with Aiden Caldwell using a paraglider to travel around the city to an electrical substation to turn on the transmitter. However, he encounters quite a few zombies along the way, and he needs to destroy them all.
He needs to destroy enemies and expose cannons aimed at buildings, intending to demolish them. The melee attack technique and parkour mechanics combined with the feel of diving into the impact points make the game stand out. You can even grab enemies and throw them off rooftops.
It is clear that Aiden is much more developed in Dying Light 2 in terms of creativity and combat techniques. With the new paraglider and grappling hook, it’s easier to soar through the city and we expect more changes to the game and more details to be revealed ahead of launch.
Dying Light 2 Stay Human will be available starting February 4, 2022 for Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
