Destiny 2: Eclipse, the penultimate chapter of the Light and Dark saga

Bungie reveals the first information about the Eclipse expansion for Destiny 2.

In the Destiny 2: Eclipse story, Calus returns from communion with the Witness, takes on his reformed army called the Shadow Legion, and invades Neptune. We learn that a separate branch of humanity flourished on a distant planet after the crash, especially in a neon-lit city called Neomuna. The city is protected by a cast of warriors called the Cloud Wanderers, who serve the same purpose for Neptune’s civilization as the Guardians do on Earth.

Bungie’s free-to-play MMOFPS players can look forward to exploring the futuristic metropolis during the events of Eclipse while taking on the Legion of Shadows with Strand’s new abilities. This latest set of subclasses gives Guardians new tools, including a grappling hook that can latch onto gaps between realities and travel to almost any location. In addition to the grappling hook, each class has new assets to unlock. Warlocks become masters of telekinesis, launching projectiles that intertwine to form swirling threads of destruction wherever they hit. Titans can create long claws that they can use to tear apart their opponents. And the Hunters have access to superstring darts.

Guardians will likely need these new abilities to counter the enemies that await them. In addition to the new dark-drenched Cabal warriors, a new Pyramid squad arrives with Calus’ powers, namely the Tormentor, a hulking foe who wields a scythe in combat and is clearly destined to disrupt the battle with overwhelming force.

Destiny 2: Eclipse from American studio Bungie will be available on February 28 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, Google Stadia and PC (Steam/Epic Games Store/Windows Store).

Season of Plunder, the new season of Destiny 2

The new season of Destiny 2 will run until December 6th and will include a host of new quests, pirates, and the ability to transform into a cannonball to raid and damage enemy ships. Plunder Season begins with the release of Eramis from his prison, the capture of a band of conspirators and pirates, and is sent across the galaxy in search of relics and treasure. Why this is a mystery you will have to solve, but suffice it to say that the relics are connected to the Darkness, so whatever Eramis wants, it can’t be good.
