How to Change Wallpaper Automatically on Mac

The same wallpaper all day is boring. I also got tired of manually changing the wallpaper daily, so I started digging into it. And luckily found a feature with which you can automatically change the wallpaper on your Mac.

Interestingly, you don’t need third-party apps to change wallpapers automatically. And rest assured, since the process is not very tiring, you will also get fresh wallpapers every day (or every hour). There are only two key steps: create a folder with the wallpaper you want, and then put it in automatic rotation.

Here’s how to make the wallpaper automatically change on your macOS device.

Now there are two ways to do this:

1. Use the Photos app to create a wallpaper folder.

Here’s what you need to do if you’re syncing images between iPhone or Mac, or if the wallpaper is stored in the Photos app.

1. Open the Photos app on Mac.
2. Select the images you want to set as wallpaper and right click.
3. Click Add to → New album.

   • Scroll down to the “Wallpaper”section.

   • Now click Auto Rotate (the first image in the album).

   • Now check the “Change image:”box and then select the frequency by opening the dropdown box next to it.

   Thanks to automatic synchronization, any images you add to the wallpaper album will also be added to the list of images that will be set as wallpaper.
