Netflix ‘Lesbian Teenage Vampire’ Marketing Kills First Killer

Showrunner Felicia D. Henderson can’t stomach the cancellation of The First Kill and blames Netflix for it:

I enthusiastically signed up for this series because it had something for everyone, like strong women, supernatural storylines, an epic Shakespearean battle between feuding families, and a world famous black family. need to be read. The initial marketing art was great. I guess I was expecting this to be the start, and other equally exciting and important elements of the series – monsters vs. monster hunters, the battle between two powerful matriarchs, etc. – would finally come to life sooner, but that didn’t happen. t will happen. When they called me and said that the show was not being renewed because the number of views was not high enough, I, of course, was very disappointed. What showrunner wouldn’t? I was told a few weeks ago that they hope the success rate will increase. I guess, it is not so. They licensed IP, paid for the pilot script, and set aside a reasonable production budget.
