Stellaris is a massive multiplayer grand strategy game that involves space exploration by technologically superior species in a race to conquer the galaxy. This space sandbox game allows players to interact, explore, explore and strategize to expand their galactic empire. Before attempting to clear the population in Stellaris, we recommend checking to see if your Empire has xenophobe-friendly ethics and if clearing is allowed in your state policy. This is because empires with a xenophile ethic usually have bad effects on the Purge unless certain types of Purge are allowed, such as Displacement. The only exception are the Gestalt Consciousness Empires, which can purify anything except biotrophies.

To clear the population in Stellaris, all you need to do is select a planet > click Surface > select a species and click Set Permissions > go to the Citizenship menu and select Unwanted. The cleaning process will start.

Now, in order for you to be able to clear a certain population on a planet, you must set the citizenship type of that species to slavery. In this case, you can change the citizenship type of this species to “Unwanted”to start the process of extermination, which can take from several months to several years. There are also prerequisites for special types of views so that they can be cleared.

• Clearing to sane species requires unprotected status in accordance with sane policies.
• Cleaning up robot species requires them to be outlawed per Robotic Workers policy.
• Cleaning up synthetic species requires an AI policy to keep them from being granted citizenship.
• If your enemy empire granted a hive mind species on a planet the “Evolutionary Mastery”ascension perk, that species is considered assimilated and thus cannot be purified. However, this perk is only available in the Utopia DLC.
