1. Make sure you have enabled Always On Display
Even though the Always-On Display feature on the iPhone 14 Pro is enabled by default, it’s still a good idea to make sure it’s enabled. Perhaps you or someone else may have changed them by fiddling with the settings. Let’s go and see if it’s on.
- Open settings.
- Tap Display & Brightness.
- Turn on Always On.
Even if it is on, just turn it off and then back on and see if the problem is fixed.
2. Update your iPhone to the latest version of iOSS.
While iOS 16 brings a lot of features to improve your experience, there are also a lot of unwanted bugs affecting the user experience. Some of these errors might be the reason why you cannot use AOD on your iPhone 14 Pro.
Fortunately, Apple always releases an update as soon as it notices a bug. Hence, it is always best to use the latest version of iOS.
So, go to Settings → General → Software Update and see if there are any new updates available to install. You can also enable automatic updates to always get the latest iOS updates. Apart from this method, there are many other ways to update your iPhone that we have mentioned in our detailed guide.
3. Disable low power mode.
For those wondering if AOD affects the 14 Pro’s battery life, the answer is yes. Therefore, if you have enabled Low Power Mode, you will need to disable it in order to use this feature.
There are two ways to turn off power saving mode on iPhone. Go to “Settings”→ “Battery”→ turn off power saving mode.
4. Change the focus of sleep
Apple knows you don’t want your iPhone to always light up the screen while you sleep. Hence, in sleep mode, it will automatically turn off the always-on display. To resolve this issue, you can do one of the following:
- Change/Disable Focus from Control Center.
- If you have linked the Lock Screen to Focus, change the Lock Screen.
- You can also make this change in the settings.
You can also make this change in the settings. Go to “Settings”→ “Focus”→ select “Focus”of your choice.
5. Disable Continuity Camera on iPhone
If you have enabled the Continuity Camera on your iPhone, you will not be able to use the Always On feature at the same time while your Mac is using the iPhone Camera. To solve this problem, you need to disable this option:
- On your iPhone, open Settings.
- Tap General.
- Select AirPlay and Handover.
- Here, enable the Continuity Camera.
6. Turn on/off Raise to wake up on iPhone
Your iPhone exits AOD when you pick it up and returns to AOD when you put it back. But due to some bugs, it may not return to that dim screen. To solve this problem:
- Launch settings.
- Select Display & Brightness.
- Turn off Raise to Wake.
- Then turn it on again.
7. Disable CarPlay on iPhone
Apple has developed a feature to automatically disable AOD when connected to CarPlay. So turn it off and then AOD will always be available on your iPhone.
- Open settings.
- Tap General.
- Select Carplay.
- Here, select the car you want to delete.
- Now select “Forget this car”.
8. Restart your iPhone
Usually, some errors can be easily fixed with a quick restart. If that doesn’t help, you can take one more step and force restart your iPhone. Rebooting your iPhone will clear all cache along with errors. This may fix the AOD issue on your iPhone 14 Pro.
Since there is no reboot in our life, at least let our iPhone reboot ?
9. Reset iPhone
Again, something we can’t do with ourselves, but we can with our iPhones. After resetting your iPhone to factory settings, it can start a new life and any bugs preventing AOD from functioning properly can also be removed.
But before completely erasing everything on your iPhone’s memory, back up your files. Otherwise, you might have a bigger problem and have to start looking for iPhone data recovery software to recover those lost data.
10. Contact Apple Support
If none of the methods mentioned here help get Always On working on your iPhone, as a last resort, contact Apple Support and seek help. Be sure to be polite to the representative as they should be able to help you with the problem you’re having with your iPhone.
That’s all!
Always On is a feature that fans have been demanding from Apple for a long time. Unfortunately, due to some software bugs, you won’t be able to “always”use this feature, so I’ve brought you all these fixes. Was this guide helpful to you?
