As online streaming services have become the norm in this current era of entertainment, platforms like Apple TV+ continue to add many great shows and movies to their catalog. That’s why I’ve curated some of the most anticipated upcoming Apple TV+ shows and movies on this list.
Announcements about upcoming shows and movies come through the Hollywood press or are confirmed by Apple. I have divided the article into several categories to make it easier for you to read. Having said that, let’s move on to the list and see what Apple has to offer us for the foreseeable future!

1. Shantaram

Shantaram is based on the 2003 novel of the same name by Gregory David Roberts. Starring the charming Charlie Hunnam, the series tells the story of a convicted bank robber and heroin addict. A fugitive escapes from Pentridge Prison in Australia and finds refuge in Bombay, India.
While in India, Lindsay decides to seek redemption and unravel the mess his past is creating. Roberts claims that the events in the book are partly inspired by events in his own life. So, this should be an interesting watch!

There is still little information on the Internet about circuit breakers. However, what we do know about the upcoming Apple TV+ series is that it will be a half-hour anthology series that will address issues that children often face. However, there is a twist – the problems will be solved through the prism of science fiction. Of course, not everything goes smoothly, and some unfortunate incidents lead to complete chaos.
The series is being produced by Melody Fox and the pilot episode will be directed by Matt Hastings, who is also the show’s producer. It looks like Apple TV is aimed at both adults and kids for this anthology series, and the show will have an interesting turn of events.

Next on this list of upcoming Apple TV+ shows and movies is Land of Women. This is another highly anticipated show based on the bestselling novel by Sandra Barned. The show is expected to be a mini-series of just six episodes and will balance between comedy and drama.
“Land of Women”is centered around Gala, an empty girl living in New York. Gala is forced to flee New York with her teenage daughter and aging mother due to her husband’s financial misdeeds affecting the entire family. Expect the show to bring lots of laughs and emotional moments!
4. Criminal record

Crime and detective series often have both the heart and the attention of the viewer. In Crime Record, you can expect twists and turns as two London detectives are forced to revisit an old murder case after they get a call from an anonymous phone.
The show will consist of eight episodes, each one hour long. To make things even more interesting, one of the detectives is a seasoned veteran and the other is a rookie who harbors the excitement, fire, and righteousness of an early age.
5. Sugar

Sugar is another detective series that Apple TV+ will bring home to you. However, there isn’t much information on the series just yet, as Apple has been tight-lipped about the details. However, what we do know about the series is that it should change genres and give a fresh take on the classic genre.
The series will be set in Los Angeles, with modern locations, contexts and scripts. Oh, and did I mention that the exceptional Colin Farrell will be starring?
6. Las Azules

International Emmy Award winner Fernando Rovzar is the inspiration behind Las Azules, which will be Apple’s foray into foreign language drama. Las Azules will have an all-Hispanic cast that appears to be set in the 1970s. The show is a 10-episode, one-hour thriller that tells stories based on real events faced by Mexico’s first all-female police force.
While cops defy social conventions to become cops, they understand that the creation of the force itself must distract the media from the work of a brutal serial killer. The show is currently in pre-production in Mexico City and a release date has yet to be announced.
7. Theft

Stories about hijackings and people’s reactions to dramatic adversity are always in demand. With that in mind, Apple TV+ is bringing Hijack to the small screen, starring Emmy nominee Idris Elba. The seven-part thriller follows the events inside a plane bound for London on a seven-hour journey.
As expected, the plane is hijacked and Sam Nelson of Elba will have to use his skills as a business negotiator to help his fellow travelers through this confusing situation. However, Nelson’s use of high-risk strategies may not go as smoothly as he hopes. Will Nelson be able to handle the situation, or will he put the lives of hundreds of passengers at even greater risk?
8. Big cigar

Movies like Catch Me If You Can often have us rooting for a charismatic leader, avoiding power in the most imaginative ways. If you enjoy shows and movies like this, you might want to keep an eye on Big Cigar. The show will tell the story of Huey P. Newton, leader of the Black Panther, and how he avoids a nationwide FBI manhunt to reference Cuba.
The show will have six episodes, though Apple hasn’t given us a release date yet. However, an Apple TV+ press release called the story “extraordinary, hilarious, almost too good to be true.”
9. Dark matter

Blake Crouch’s bestseller Dark Matter has been adapted as a nine-episode thriller on Apple TV+. There are already high expectations for the series, with Dark Matter being hailed as one of the best sci-fi novels of the decade.
The series follows the life of Jason Dessen, a family man, physicist and professor who is kidnapped into an alternate version of his life. As he attempts to return to his reality, he will have to deal with many of the decisions he has made in the multiverse. In this twisted plot, Dessen has to save his real family from one of his most powerful enemies – himself.
10 Midnight Family

Natalya Beristain is ready to present her new show Midnight Family on Apple TV+. The show will be 100% Hispanic and will be entirely in Spanish. Midnight Family will tell the story of Marigabi Tomayo, a gifted and brutal medical student who saves the lives of the less fortunate in Mexico City at night in her family’s private ambulance.
This medical drama will have 10 episodes, but no release date has been announced yet.

The series also talks about the importance of emotions, friendship and, of course, kindness. The main idea of the show is for children to understand how they can bring kindness into their lives and social-emotional situations.
12. Mythic Quest

Mythic Quest is one of my favorite Apple TV+ shows and is also touted as one of the best Apple TV+ shows you can watch today. Plus, if you’re a fan of video games and workplace comedy, Mythic Quest is the show for you.
The series returns with a third season following the exploits of Ian Grimm and the development of the Mythic Quest expansion pack. You can expect more poignant jokes with a balanced approach to social situations!
13 Ghost Writer

Ghostwriter is one of the most popular shows on Apple TV+ and has been running for two seasons. As the third season approaches, the show reveals new facets of the ghost haunting the bookstore. Basically, the ghost starts releasing fictional characters into the real world. Now it’s up to a gang of neighborhood kids to understand the ghost’s motives and unravel the mystery surrounding it.
If you’re looking for a family show on Apple TV+ to watch with your kids, Ghostwriter is one of the best options!
14. Acapulco

Sometimes it’s hard to find a great comedy series in a foreign language. However, with Acapulco you get one of the freshest takes on comedy, as evidenced by its Critics’ Choice Award nomination. The show chronicles the exploits of Maximo Gallardo in 1984, who was hired to work in Las Colinas, Acapulco’s most exclusive resort.
However, the job is not as easy as Gallardo expected. With too many hilarious and often extenuating circumstances associated with Las Colinas, Gallardo has his own job. Each season of the show consists of ten episodes, and it’s a great show!
15. Slow horses

British dry comedy and wit can be taken for granted, but their edgy nature is often edgy. If you’re a fan of dry humor, you’ll love Slow Horses. The series follows the lives of a group of dysfunctional MI5 operatives and their boss as they try to save England from various threats.
The show has already aired with a very successful first season and a second season is coming soon. With stars like Gary Oldman and Olivia Cooke at the helm, you can be sure it’s going to be fun!
16. Little America

Immigrant stories are often the hardest to navigate. Considering how delicate the issue can be, their on-screen display often comes with a fair amount of risk. However, Little America is a show that seems to have perfected the formula. This series talks beautifully and truthfully about the difficulties and the bright side of immigrant stories.
The anthology is also based on real stories featured in Epic magazine. If you’re looking for a wholesome series to grab a bite to eat, the first season of Little America will definitely make you look forward to the upcoming second season!

Peter will have to rely on his wits and faith to cross the unforgiving swamps of Louisiana. With Will Smith in the role, the film already has high expectations!

A difficult childhood is often the cause of years of trauma. With that in mind, Raymond and Ray tell the story of two stepbrothers who attend their late father’s funeral. Unfortunately for the siblings, their relationship with their father was strained. Despite their troubles, both brothers retained their sense of humor, and this funeral is a chance for them to introspect and make some changes in their lives and general outlook.
The film stars Ethan Hawke and Ewan McGregor. With such a stellar cast, there is every reason to be hyped for this film.

James Bond has been an iconic character in both book and film history. Screen adaptations of Stephen Fleming’s spy novels have had a fair share of success. What’s more, with actors like Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig taking on the lead role, each actor brought something different to the character.
“The Sound of 007″looks at another aspect of cinema – music. With over 60 years of history, music has been an integral part of every James Bond film. Whether it’s a tense atmosphere or moving scenes, the music has always set the pace of the film. This documentary chronicles the evolution of James Bond music over the years and is a must see for all fans of the music or James Bond.

The heroine Lawrence returns home after a traumatic brain injury during a tour of Afghanistan. The film aims to show the hardships veterans face as they adjust to normal life after centuries of fighting on the front lines.
The film is set in New Orleans and Jennifer Lawrence is also one of the show’s producers. Given Lawrence’s insight, I’m looking forward to watching this movie!

Charles Dickens is an amazingly unique writer. Although most of his books were about Victorian London and its demons, he also wrote a few relatively light-hearted stories. Spiritualized is based on the Dickens novel A Christmas Carol, starring Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds.
The film aims to take a fresh look at the novella as it is a contemporary musical. So, if you are a fan of musicals, you should beware of this!

When Martin Scorsese, Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro team up to make a movie, you know it’s going to grab everyone’s attention. Based on David Grann’s bestselling book The Flower Moon Murder: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI, the film follows the 1920 Osage murders in northeast Oklahoma.
The murders were so horrific that the FBI launched a massive investigation. In fact, the FBI called this period the “reign of terror.”With such an exciting premise, it would be hard to miss the release of this film in 2023.
