M1X MacBook Pro 14 and 16 with 512GB storage, 16GB RAM leak before launch

The Apple MacBook Pro 14 and MacBook Pro 16 are due early next month as we reported earlier, and we’re already hearing rumors of a new M1X chip. However, a prototype of the upcoming MacBook Pro has been leaked, giving us some surprising details.

Someone paired their iPhone with a prototype of the new MacBook Pro, making some information available online ahead of launch. As seen in the screenshot, this is a new MacBook Pro with M1X, and the name DVT-X88102C does not refer to anything other than Design Validation Testing (DVT), the prototyping stage before production Validation Testing (PVT). The screenshot seems to be correct because there are Apple Park coordinates.

Apparently the new MacBook Pro that will be released soon will be equipped with the M1X chip, this is demonstrated by this image of a DVT unit tested in Cupertino #Apple #AppleInternal #MacBookProM1X pic.twitter.com/jwRVXP4ezq

The screenshot confirms the presence of the new M1X chip, which Apple has not yet announced separately, and there is mention of 512 GB of storage and 16 GB of RAM. Other than that, the screenshot has nothing more to say to Apple fans.

However, it is believed that the new MacBook Pro 14 and 16 will have up to 32GB of RAM and 2TB of storage. The new MacBook Pro line may come with new I/O, including HDMI and an SD card reader. They should still keep the MagSafe charging port. However, now they can have a new flat design.

Apple continued to delay the announcement of the M1X and then the new MacBook line, and now it looks like the company will announce it on the launch day of the new MacBook Pro line. The new M1X chip may be a 10-core processor with eight high-performance cores and two power-efficient cores. As for the GPU, there could be two options and the company could release a new Mac Mini based on the new M1X chip.

Several model numbers have come out of the rumor mill, and according to them, Apple is working on a MacBook Pro with model numbers J314 and J316. There are links to two other models, J374 and J375, which could be the new M1X-based Mac Minis.
