TrollStore updated to version 1.2.1 with security feature to avoid bootloops

TrollStore, the wildly popular permanent signature utility for iOS and iPadOS 14.0-15.4.1 (and some iOS 15.5 betas), received an update to version 1.2.1 this Monday afternoon with a couple of minor changes.

Referring to the changelog for TrollStore version 1.2.1, according to the GitHub project page, the following changes are present in this release:

– New security features to ensure files cannot be installed. ipa that have the same ID as the system apps already installed on the device.

– Do not fix info.plist file of TrollStore itself when updating TrollStore (important change to fix problems with updating to future updates).

If you’re wondering why this update was needed, it’s because some users have reported getting stuck in the boot loop when using the same ID as system apps/preinstalled apps.

Obviously, you wouldn’t want this to happen, which is why all users are now advised to update TrollStore to the latest version to take advantage of this security feature.

If you are already a TrollStore user, you can download the latest update using the OTA update mechanism in the TrollHelper app.

Those not yet taking advantage of TrollStore can get it from the GitHub developer page.
