As videographer Michael Billig (@michael_billig) notes in the eight-minute video above, none of the individual errors are cause for concern. But when they occur several times a day, every day, they can be really annoying to the point where you start to wonder when the next bug-fix release of iOS is coming out.

Now I’m not as concerned about these early iOS 16 bugs as Michael is.

At the same time, I am also not indifferent to them. For example, I can confirm that my iPhone 14 Pro Max will not display the flashlight and camera icons on a darkened lock screen. And when I touch the always-on display, these icons appear after about a second or two.

True Tone and screen lock delays

My vision isn’t what it used to be, which means I rely on features like True Tone and Night Shift to cut down on sleep-depriving blue light. I’ve noticed that True Tone takes a long time to initialize after waking up the phone from sleep (you can imagine why this would be a world first problem for me).

I understand that some of you may not find this problematic, but trust me when I say that it can be really frustrating when the screen suddenly changes from its bluish appearance to a softer, yellowish one.

I want to experience Dynamic Island double fault!

I also ran into an unusual number of UI bugs in the Camera app where buttons were displayed in the wrong positions or didn’t appear at all.

I wish I’d run into the weirdest bug of all, where the Dynamic Island would both appear at the top of the screen, as usual, and vertically, on the right, but I guess I’m not as lucky as some other users.
