Moto Announces Edge X30 With Editon Under-Screen Camera, Coming Soon
Recently, Motorola has been busy releasing several smartphones in different price ranges. Late last year, the Lenovo-owned company launched the Moto X30, which was the first smartphone to feature the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. Since then, the company has released several G-series smartphones in different markets. Motorola may now launch a new variant of the Moto X30 in China.
The new X30 variant will have an under-screen camera. Chen Jin, CEO of Lenovo Mobile Phones China, showed an image hinting at the launch of the device. Let’s take a look at the Moto X30 specs, features and other details.
Announced the version of Moto X30 with a camera under the screen
Motorola may soon release the Moto X30 with an under-screen camera. A company executive teased an image hinting at an imminent launch. Last year, Motorola released a vanilla X30 with a punch-hole display. The upcoming under-screen camera variant, also teased at the event, will be launched soon.
The retail box does not reveal any details. However, the device is expected to feature the same 60MP front camera below the display bezel. Other characteristics of the device are likely to remain the same.
In this case, the device will be equipped with a 6.7-inch Full HD+ POLED display. It will have a resolution of 2400×1080 pixels and a peak brightness of 700 nits. The phone’s display also supports 144Hz refresh rate and is HDR10+ certified.
Under the hood, there will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. The under-screen camera variant will likely have up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. It will be powered by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 68W fast charging.
Motorola’s premium smartphone will have a triple camera on the back. It will feature a 50-megapixel main camera sensor and offer optical image stabilization. There will also be another 50-megapixel sensor for capturing ultra-wide images. Finally, the rear camera setup will be complemented by a 2-megapixel macro shooter.
The device runs Android 12 out of the box with a MyUI 3.0 layer on top. Connectivity options include a USB Type-C charging port, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, Bluetooth 5.2, WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax, and more. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone weighs about 194 grams and measures 163.56 x 75.95 x 8.49mm.
