The Chronicles of Narnia: Greta Gerwig may direct the first two films of the new saga
Netflix plans to hire director Greta Gerwig to reboot The Chronicles of Narnia in theaters.
With the acquisition of the rights to seven books in the Narnia universe in 2018, after signing a multi-year contract with The CS Lewis Company, the streaming platform Netflix has the goal of offering series and movies. The development process continues for four more years. Matthew Alrich (Coco, Lightyear, The Cleaner, Spinner) has been named creative architect overseeing all upcoming projects, including two films directed by Greta Gerwig (Little Women, Lady Bird, Mistress America, Frances Ha”). a few months.

Later this year, Greta Gerwig will play Babette in White Noise. This Netflix Original is due to hit Netflix around the end of December next year and will have a limited theatrical release. In addition to White Noise, Greta Gerwig is the writer and director of Warner Bros.’s upcoming Barbie. Pictures (2023), as well as the screenwriter of Disney’s live-action film Snow White, slated for release in 2024. We don’t know exactly which “Chronicles”of the Narnia films Greta Gerwig will direct, or the books they cover. Many have predicted that Netflix won’t stick to the order of the books, but there’s nothing concrete about that yet.
