Yu Gi Oh! Konami to ditch Cross Duel at the start of the school year
Due to low player interest in the four-player mobile game Yu-Gi-Oh! Cross Duel will close in the next few months.
Launch of Yu-Gi-Oh! Cross Duel on iOS and Android in September 2022 introduced a radical departure from the traditional Yu-Gi-Oh! license game formula. Cross Duel is a crazy duel for four players, in which each player sends their monsters in different ways to attack their opponents, as well as setting traps to interfere with other players. It also features a new mechanic where players can change the type of their monster cards by adding special effects to their deck. However, the unique gameplay of Yu-Gi-Oh! Cross Duel hasn’t garnered much fanfare, in part due to the gacha mechanic being too pay-to-win.
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to Yu-Gi-Oh! CROSS DUEL community for great support. It is with a heavy heart that we announce that we will end service at 05:00 (UTC) on Monday, September 4, 2023 https://t.co/4Q5YCPVQJh #YuGiOhCROSSDUEL pic.twitter.com/Nev5YV9oEw
