Citroën My Ami Buggy: when a small electric city car wants to play a tourist
Citroën presents the adventurous Ami city car concept. The result is the most successful.
Traveling on uncharted trails can be even more enjoyable with the new Citroën concept car. My Ami Buggy is based on the small town Ami car we’ve known for some time, and adds some practical touches here and there, like big tires, an LED bar and removable doors.
Citroën presents the adventurous concept of its city car Ami
This buggy is a way for Citroën’s designers to show off their engineering by adding “stylish trappings to express your intrepid touring personality,”according to the brand’s own words. In fact, inspiration came from everywhere, including building games, industrial design, and fashion.
The result is a buggy that looks straight out of your 10-year-old’s imagination, assuming your kid is design savvy, of course. The Citroën My Ami Buggy in khaki, black and yellow is definitely an eye-catcher, offering a certain camouflage and remaining highly visible in an urban environment.

Another interesting feature is the doors, or rather their absence. The classic doors have been replaced with zippered removable doors to improve air circulation and keep the buggy looking. Bumpy and wide tires will get you through the roughest roads, as long as you remember that ground clearance is far from exceptional. This little buggy also has headlight guards and roof backup, giving it an “adventurous spirit”and more “cuteness”so to speak.
Other notable features include a front LED light bar, a removable “nomadic speaker”, a removable sun roof ceiling and a graphics package with the words “Pilot”and “01”on the back. Pilot’s seat and “Co-Pilot”and “02”in the passenger seat. Incidentally, these seats use thicker memory foam. There are also new storage areas on the dashboard, Citroën says, and even a row of luggage designed to “find its place perfectly within the car’s interior,”Citroën says. Finally, we’ll cover smartphone mounts, bottle holders, and more. Everything is 3D printed so they can be reproduced upon request.
We remind you that the Citroën Ami has a top speed of 45 km / h and can withstand 70 kilometers on a single charge of its 5.5 kWh battery. This car can also be driven from the age of 14 in France and elsewhere in Europe. The Citroën designers had a lot of fun creating the My Ami Buggy concept, but unfortunately no one knows if it will ever be mass-produced. I hope so.
