Xiaomi 12 Series will be launched in China on December 28: expected specifications

Xiaomi has finally announced the release date for the Xiaomi 12 series in the Chinese market. Xiaomi officials Lei Jun, Lu Weibing and Wang Deng Thomas took to Weibo to announce that Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12X and Xiaomi 12 Pro will debut on December 28th. Xiaomi founder Lei Jun also revealed that MIUI 13 will also be unveiled at the same event.

The upcoming Xiaomi 12 series devices have already been certified on the websites, so some of the key specifications of these devices are already known. Let’s see what we know about Xiaomi 12 series devices so far,

Xiaomi has confirmed that Xiaomi 12 series devices will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. 3C certification sheet has confirmed that Xiaomi 12 will support 67W fast charging. Whereas, the Pro variant will come with support for 120W fast charging as per Listing 3C.

Renders and key specs of the upcoming Xiaomi 12 were leaked last week. The leak suggested that the Xiaomi 12 would offer a 6.2-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display. The device is reported to be equipped with a 5,000 mAh battery. It measures 152.7 x 70.0 x 8.6mm and comes in three colors – black, white and gold. The Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro are said to offer AMOLED displays with a 120Hz refresh rate.

Xiaomi 12X is considered a compact phone from the Xiaomi 12 lineup and could be the company’s answer to the iPhone Mini models. The upcoming phone has already been spotted on the IMEI database list and is reportedly powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor. The device could feature a 6.28-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10. It is said to offer a 50MP sensor and can also support 67 fast charging just like its older brother the Xiaomi 12. The Xiaomi 12X may also offer an in-display fingerprint scanner and a 3.5mm audio jack.

It is also reported that Xiaomi will launch the Xiaomi 12 Ultra, Xiaomi 12 Lite and Xiaomi 12 Lite Zoom as part of the Xiaomi 12 series.
