Oppo Enco Buds Launches September 8, Company Claims 24-Hour Playback
The Oppo Enco Buds are speculated to be the last pair of true wireless earbuds to be released at the virtual introduction and product pricing announcement on September 8th. The headphones have already been revealed in terms of design, and the company has also officially confirmed that a true wireless pair will be an entry-level offering. As a result, it can compete with the true wireless headphones offered by its sister brands such as Realme and OnePlus in the most affordable price segment, with rival brand Xiaomi in its sights.
Not much has been revealed in terms of its sonic performance, other than the usual marketing jargon promising “crystal clear and live sound”. This doesn’t tell us much about the drivers powering the Oppo Enco Buds, but if the Enco W51, also from Oppo, was anything to go by, it could be an interesting proposition to say the least. The only two hooks the company has identified are Enco Buds’ 24-hour battery life and its call noise reduction algorithm.
On its global specs page, the Oppo Enco Buds reveal 8mm dynamic drivers, which is in line with what you would expect from a budget headphone. It has a standard audio range in terms of frequency response and is rated for an audio sensitivity of 100.6 dB. It gets Bluetooth 5.2, which the company says will provide a “low latency mode”designed to reassure gamers, as well as seamless pairing once the charging case is opened. Enco Buds also have an IP54 dust and water resistance rating to please fitness fans.
In terms of battery life, the Oppo Enco Buds will reportedly offer six hours of playback via the earbuds and a total of 24 hours of playback via the charging case. This suggests that the case will be able to provide three full charge cycles for the earbuds. Charging the earphones and the charging case together via the USB-C port on the case will take up to 2.5 hours. Oppo also promised “Intelligent Call Noise Cancellation”as a key feature that has yet to be tested in real-world conditions.
Pricing and availability announcements are expected later this week with Enco Buds launching on September 8th.
