One trend is for companies to cut holes in their mouse bodies to reduce weight, but Turtle Beach’s sub-brand Roccat Wireless Gaming Mouse, announced today, manages to lighten weight and avoid honeycomb holes.

The Roccat Burst Pro Air weighs in at 2.86 oz (81 g), which is significantly lighter than powerful wireless mice such as the Logitech MX Master 3 (4.97 oz / 141 g) and Razer Pro Click (3.73 oz / 106 g). All three mice support USB-A dongle for wireless connection as well as Bluetooth and are rechargeable. But the Burst Pro Air’s weight class makes it a smart choice for those who are tired of heavy mice. Those ounces can add up if you have health issues or just been sitting at your computer for a while.

Gaming brand Roccat has developed a mouse for PC gamers who will quickly swipe, throw, flick and click based on the design of the wired Burst Pro. But unlike some other ultra-light gaming mice like the Glorious Model O-Wireless (about 2.43 oz / 69g) or the SteelSeries Aerox 3 Wireless (2.4 oz / 68g), the Burst Pro Air case has no open gaps. in the hull.

The 0.17-pound Roccat mouse has holes in its design, but they are covered with a thin, translucent shell that helps protect the holes from dust and dirt. It’s still a jarring design, and if you’re not a gamer, it could easily conflict with the rest of your PC setup.

However, the $100 price tag for a peripheral is high, especially for non-gamers. We won’t know if it’s worth the price until we try the mouse.

For gamers, Roccat has also equipped the mouse with a powerful optical sensor. It claims to support up to 19,000 dpi, speeds up to 400 inches per second (IPS), and acceleration up to 50g. The mouse also works with the Nvidia Reflex latency analyzer.

The new Roccat wireless mouse has the extreme performance you normally expect from gaming. But with its light weight and striking design slightly less polarized than the boldest games, we won’t blame non-gamers for looking into it too.
