Sony PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium prices confirmed
SIE announced details on the new PlayStation Plus yesterday, but pricing was missing from the blog post. Industry insider Rishi Alwani has now revealed prices for PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium received from retailers and not yet officially confirmed by Sony.
It’s interesting to note that the prices shown are for PlayStation Plus Premium, not Deluxe. PS Plus Deluxe is a cheaper alternative to Premium and will be available in select regions where the PS Now cloud gaming service is not yet available.
PlayStation Now is not currently available in the country, but there have been reports of the service launching in India in 2020, but plans have been delayed due to the pandemic. It will be interesting if the service actually arrives in the country by the time the new PS Plus is launched in the country.
PlayStation Plus: how much will it cost?
The third tier, PlayStation Plus Essential, will only be available at current prices because the service remains unchanged. Another major topic of discussion in the gaming community is whether SIE will allow the upgrade plan for players who are currently subscribed to PS Plus.
SIE has yet to share any plans to allow players to upgrade their plans, or whether they will have to end up paying full price if they want to upgrade from Essential to Extra or Premium.
PS Plus Premium combines all the features of PS Plus Extra with the PlayStation Now cloud gaming service. This will essentially allow players to stream PS3 games via the cloud and play them instantly without downloading/installing.
