DualSense: PS5 controller can now be upgraded on PC
PC players have the option to update DualSense by bypassing the PS5.
Gamers who prefer to play on PC no longer need to connect their DualSense to their PS5 to update it. For now, they can download a new Windows software called “DualSense Wireless Controller Firmware Update”which is available on the official PlayStation website.
This software allows them to connect their DualSense controller via USB, download the latest firmware update from Sony’s servers, and apply it to the controller. Previously, gamers could only update the DualSense firmware through the PS5, but the new software means that, in theory, you no longer need to own a PS5 to use DualSense on PC and keep it up to date.
