Microsoft Surface Pro 8 key specs and pricing leaked ahead of today’s launch
Microsoft is holding an event today to launch the new Surface Pro 8, Surface Duo 2, and Surface Book. The new Surface line is expected to be Microsoft’s next line of flagship computing devices based on Windows 11. The event is scheduled for 11:00 AM ET (8:30 PM IST). However, shortly before the launch, key specifications and pricing information were leaked. A Twitter leaker shared some of the Surface Pro 8’s key specs.
Surface Pro 8 key features
Microsoft’s new Surface Pro 8 will feature the latest generation 11th Gen Intel Core processor. However, the exact version of the processor has not yet been disclosed. As mentioned earlier and in line with our expectations, it will ship with Windows 11. It will feature a 13-inch display with a high refresh rate of 120Hz and bezels around the display will be minimal. There will also be two Thunderbolt ports for connectivity.
The inspector also mentioned that the Surface Pro 8 will come with a replaceable SSD, making it easier for users to upgrade or replace an SSD whenever they want. Microsoft likely opted for a 120Hz display to take full advantage of Windows 11’s dynamic refresh rate feature, which allows the display to change its refresh rate based on tasks. Some sources also suggest that the Surface Pro 8 will come with a new and improved Surface Pen.
Surface Pro 8 pricing
The bug is also the second tweet right after he revealed the key features. According to him, it will cost $799. However, in a follow-up reply to others, he mentioned that he was confident in the features but unsure of the price.
Other devices launching today
A couple of Surface devices will launch today, and it looks like the Microsoft Surface Go 3 will also be part of the new lineup. Already, the main specs of the Surface Go 3 have been leaked, and leaked information suggests that it will come with a 10-5-inch display, 4GB or 8GB of RAM, 8MP rear bezel, and a 5MP front camera, Wi-Fi 6 and more.. However, the leak suggests a 10th-generation Core i3 processor on the Surface Go 3, which may seem a bit disappointing to many.
Based on the information we have, the Surface Go 3 could be the most affordable of the bunch, with sources hinting at a price close to $450.
At the moment, information about Surface devices released today is limited. But we will definitely keep an eye on further developments and will share related updates when needed.
