Capcom announces Resident Evil 4 remake date and PSVR2 content release.

Rumors about a remake of Resident Evil 4 have been around for a long time and, of course, fans of the famous Capcom franchise are looking forward to it. The project exists and this game will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC via Steam on March 24, 2023. The studio revealed the trailer accompanying this announcement during the PlayStation State of Play, which took place just recently.

Capcom announces Resident Evil 4 remake date

Thus, this opus will be a remake of the original game released in 2005, which featured Leon S. Kennedy and the President’s daughter Ashley Graham. And, of course, hordes of infected and bloodthirsty villagers.

“We want the game to feel familiar to fans of the series, but bring something new to it,”a Capcom producer explained on the PlayStation Blog. “Today, this is achieved by reimagining the game’s story while maintaining the essence of its creation, modernizing the graphics and updating the controls.”

And presents content for PSVR2

Capcom also took advantage of this great event to showcase some content from Resident Evil 4 specially designed for PlayStation VR 2, Sony’s new version of the VR headset.

In addition to this long-awaited remake, Capcom is preparing a PSVR2 version of Resident Evil: Village, the latest game in the franchise. The first trailer features scenes from the early sections of the game, focusing on the much-loved character Grand Vampire Alsina Dimitrescu.

The PSVR2 edition of Resident Evil: Village will feature the full PS5 game. Capcom and Sony teamed up to bring Resident Evil 7 to VR in 2017, and the formula seems to be working well for them and for players alike.

We don’t yet have a launch date for the Sony PSVR2 headset, nor a release date for the Resident Evil: Village expansion that the studio promised a year ago. Patience!
