The Last of Us Part I Remake Officially Revealed: Release Date and PC Release Confirmed

A remake of The Last of Us Part I has been rumored for a while, and Naughty Dog finally brought the game to the public at Summer Game Fest last night. The Last of Us Part I was created from the ground up for the PlayStation 5, but it was also revealed that a PC version of the game is also in development.

The game will release on September 2, 2022, which is pretty close. It may be a while before PC players can experience the game, but it’s great news nonetheless that the critically acclaimed game will eventually make its way to the PC platform.

It appears that SIE and PlayStation Studios may follow a similar release of Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, which was released first for PS5 and then a few months later for PC.

Along with the remake news, Naughty Dog has also released new concept art for the multiplayer game they’re working on. Initially planned as a multiplayer/faction-like component of a sequel, the project grew in both scope and ambition and eventually became a standalone project.

It’s unclear what game Naughty Dog is working on, but there’s a good chance it’s a live service game as it seems to be the focus for SIE in this console cycle.
