Our modern mobile apps do what they do pretty well. Technologies and equipment are now advanced enough to perform a wide variety of tasks and greatly simplify our lives. However, some activities would be better if they were a little more “fun”. This applies, of course, to all things related to the GPS mapping systems that we use very often in our cars. And today, Google-owned Waze is taking a step in that direction by adding ch’ti to its many voices available.

Waze organized the survey in December 2021 through his Twitter account. The team asked users what French accent should they type in the app with? Basque, Hti, Breton and Corsican were offered. Honor won unconditionally with 42.1% of the votes. The developers of Waze kept their word: now you have access to the things that will accompany you on the road, and to be precise, the accents of the south of France, Toulouse and Marseille accents.

As such, it should appeal to the people of Nord, the Pas de Calais and all of Picardy, while not forgetting all the expatriates, forced or forced, who may (too often) lack that accent. And to keep everything as authentic as possible, because that’s ultimately the most important thing, know that the sentences recorded by Waze have been verified by the community.
