Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, a horror movie with Winnie and Piglet
A terrifying reimagining of children’s literature by British writer Alan Alexander Milne.
Written and directed by Rhys Frake-Waterfield, Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, starring actresses Amber Doig-Thorn, Maria Taylor and Danielle Scott, follows monstrous versions of Winnie and Piglet (half-human, half-mutant, hybrid-animal) who abandoned by Christopher Robin, now an adult and in college. Alone and hungry, they commit a series of brutal murders.

The film was shot in ten days in England, near Ashdown Forest, the inspiration for Alan Alexander Milne’s imaginary forest Hundred Acres in the Winnie the Pooh stories. Although Rhys Freik-Waterfield declined to reveal the horror film’s budget, he said audiences “shouldn’t expect this to be a Hollywood-level production.”Jagged Edge Productions, run by RFW with co-producer Scott Jeffrey, has produced the film, and ITN Studios has already signed on to distribute it.
Disney has nothing to do with Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey.
The original property became public earlier this year. The character of Winnie the Pooh first appeared in 1926, after the publication of the Pooh Corner House collection of illustrated books. In 1961, Walt Disney Productions began making films based on the character, making the bear an iconic figure in animation. The franchise has spawned numerous films such as The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Pooh’s Great Adventure: In Search of Christopher Robin, Tigger, Piglet’s Big Movie, 2011’s Winnie the Pooh or, more recently, “Christopher Robin.
