Self Repair Samsung Smartphone Using Samsung/iFixit Kit
Samsung launches its home repair program in the United States with kits and instructions created with iFixit. An initiative that also makes it possible to comply with the law on the right to repair.
If there is no Samsung repair center or similar center near you, sending the phone in and waiting for the repair to be completed can be problematic, especially if the device in question ends up in working order. For example, if you just need to replace a broken screen or a battery that no longer holds a charge but otherwise works great, it can be frustrating to have to go without it. Unless you can fix it yourself.
Samsung launches home renovation program in US
The Samsung Self-Help Program has recently become available in the US. This allows you to independently perform a number of operations: back surface, screen, battery, USB port. So many items that can now be easily replaced for seven devices at the time of this writing: six Galaxy S20 and S21, and a Galaxy Tab S7+.
The repair consists of a kit that includes all the necessary tools and components, as well as detailed instructions, developed in conjunction with the well-known specialized site iFixit. Prices depend on the nature of the repair, but in general they are quite reasonable.

Samsung even offers the option to send in replacement parts (free of charge) for recycling. Recently, the South Korean giant has stepped up its environmental initiatives. The company was also one of the first to use environmentally friendly packaging and ink.
That said, Apple and other tech giants have also taken steps in that direction, including a self-healing program. This Apple dates back to April last year and allows more items to be repaired. However, users wishing to carry out repairs themselves must rent the necessary equipment. Samsung currently prefers to focus on the most common and simple types of repairs. Will the giant move on? Future will tell.
An initiative that also makes it possible to comply with the right-to-repair law
One might argue that these companies do this not only for the convenience of their customers. These initiatives may be ways to comply with the New York State Right to Repair law. It could also thwart future laws that are stricter for tech giants.
In any case, this is a positive development and probably the result of a major legal battle for the right to repair their electronics. And finally, in the more or less near future, the simplicity of this home appliance repair may become an important factor in the purchase decision. ..
