Rainbow Six Extraction Gameplay Details Maps, Missions and Difficulty Settings Revealed by Ubisoft

Ubisoft has just released a new video for Rainbow Six Extraction showing how maps, missions and different difficulty levels work. The biggest highlight is that no two missions will be the same in the game.

The game has twelve maps spread over three zones each, 13 randomized mission types and 18 operators. Objectives are randomized for players to complete and there are more details such as sub-zones on maps and different ways to use the environment to gain an advantage. The video from Ubisoft explains pretty much everything using gameplay footage, so be sure to check it out.

Gameplay details

In terms of location on the map, there are quite a few options such as New York, San Francisco, New Mexico, Alaska, and finally “some weird place”. Each of the maps has three subzones and twelve dynamic maps. Each mission starts with one subzone and an objective that players must complete in order to progress to the next subzone with a different objective. However, players can choose loot after completing each objective, which ends the mission and players decide not to go for the big payout. However, if the player has completed the first two objectives, they can progress to a third subzone with comparatively more difficult enemies.

Some maps have a lot of destructible walls and windows to provide better mobility on the maps. Users can also set up barricades and traps to block enemies or slow them down. Archaea or enemies spawn randomly in missions, and there’s Sprawl, a sort of black trash that spreads and changes the map during the current mission. Players must clear nests to prevent them from spreading. Sprawl speeds up enemies while slowing players down.

Ubisoft has also hinted that a new in-depth video is coming soon that will go over the different types of archaene and the tactics players can use to take them down. Rainbow Six Extraction will be available to players starting January 20, 2022 for Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, Google Stadia, and Amazon Luna. The game also introduced the Buddy Pass, which allows players to buy the game and invite two of their friends to play on their team for two weeks.
