Doors will be open from 4 to 7 January 2022.

CTA CEO Gary Shapiro defended the physical event decision as the omicron variant dramatically increases infections in many countries around the world. “As one of the biggest technology events, CES remains the same, a place to come together to showcase our products and discuss what will make our lives better. […] We have reduced the event to three to three days and have implemented comprehensive health measures for the safety of all involved.” Gary Shapiro also explained that the main reason for not canceling the event is that many small businesses rely heavily on the event to launch their products. CES 2021 was completely virtual.

“We’re all taking risks,”he recently told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “But without risk, there is no innovation.”
