Ford coming to blockchain and metaverse soon?

Ford registers several trademarks for the NFT and the Metaverse. The manufacturer’s project is still very vague.

While it’s too early to tell what the metaverse will look like once it’s truly democratized, companies are determined to be present in these markets. Does it make any real sense or not. Companies are trying it, concepts are multiplying. Soon it will be the car manufacturer Ford who will be able to launch the blockchain and the metaverse. This is evidenced by a recent trademark application.

Ford files multiple NFT and metaverse trademarks

Mike Kondoudis, Registered Trademark Specialist, reports his discovery. In total, the American brand has registered at least 19 trademarks for several of its products and innovations, including “Ford”, “Lincoln”, “Lightning”, “Maverick”, “Ranger”, “Mustang”.

So it’s not hard to tell that Ford plans to bring some of its models into the metaverse. That the manufacturer has already confirmed. It will be about the offer of “virtual cars, SUVs, trucks and vans, car parts and accessories, as well as clothing.”Note that these repositories mention “non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and collectible digital objects”.

The manufacturer’s project is still very vague

Should we expect Ford to take a market place in the metaverse? The brand also mentions “computer programs”that will allow access to “virtual worlds”, that’s all! A few words, even “buzzwords,”some will say, but very few specifics. Until Ford officially announces its plans, there is no way to know what Ford’s presence on the blockchain and metaverse might look like. If it ever happens. Indeed, trademark registration is only the first stage of the project.

In any case, Ford is another name on the list of automakers interested in blockchain and its technologies. In July, Mercedes-Benz launched the Polygon, which was soon followed by Lamborghini announcing its interest in the market. To be continued!
