GTA 6: a major historical leak related to the Rockstar Games hack

The American studio Rockstar Games confirms the invasion of its internal network in order to broadcast many confidential videos of GTA 6.

If the Rockstar Games hack was indeed a reality, the GTA 6 and GTA 5 source codes may not be affected, or at least not completely, despite the hacker’s claims in some specialized forums:

We recently experienced a network breach where an unauthorized third party illegally accessed and downloaded our sensitive data from our servers, including early development footage for the upcoming Grand Theft Auto. At this time, we do not expect any disruption to our gaming services or any long-term impact on the development of our current projects.

Rockstar Games has no plans to change its plans after the unexpected leak of GTA 6:

GTA 6 or the biggest leak in the history of the video game industry

It’s one of the most anticipated games in history, if not the most anticipated, and nearly a decade after GTA 5’s launch, we’re still in the dark about the next iteration in the series. Now, “thanks” to this leak, fans of the franchise know roughly when and where the game takes place, how it works, and even who the main characters are. Many items (at least 90) are currently circulating on the web, ranging from still images to several minutes of gameplay.

In one long scene, a man and a woman rob what appears to be a restaurant in a small town before being chased by the local police. In another clip, we see a test environment that shows a large open map that is identified in many ways as almost certainly based on Vice City. Some shots also suggest that the male and female characters are common characters, of the same age, or even siblings. Rockstar Games must now lay low and surprise their fans at the most unexpected moment with the first GTA 6 trailer.
