PUBG: Drones are Coming to the Battlegrounds, Teaser Confirms

The conversation about PUBG: Battlegrounds is currently dominated by talk of the game going free-to-play soon this month. However, the game does have a couple more tricks up its sleeve, as all sorts of new content will also make its way into the game once the game goes free-to-play.

As shown in the latest promotional trailer for PUBG: Battlegrounds, the developers are hinting that a new tactical piece of equipment will be coming to the game: drones. Drones have been adopted in many battle royale games due to the huge tactical advantage they can provide to the user. Games like PUBG New State have shown how effective drones can be in a tough situation, and now it looks like PC and console players will have a chance to play around with drones.

Many great games like Rocket League have experienced a huge surge in active concurrent players since moving to a free-to-play model, and it will be interesting to see if PUBG: Battlegrounds follows a similar trajectory. The game is by no means currently on the ice as it is still quite popular in some regions of the world.

Switching to a free-to-play game will make the game more accessible to a wider audience, which will attract a large number of players to the game. The game will also be leaving Xbox Game Pass later this month due to the switch to free-to-play.
