Localization Changer app allows TrollStore users to fake their current location
Of the many things you can do with a jailbroken iPhone, spoofing your location is perhaps one of the most requested features as it can change how apps behave. And now, with iOS developer C22’s new Localization Changer app, you can do just that with a TrollStore-equipped device, whether it’s jailbroken or not.
After you install the Localization Changer app using TrollStore, you can open it to find the interface described above. It has a button to select a location from the Apple Maps app that you will use to fake your current location. Clicking on it will take you straight to the Apple Maps app, where you can put a pin in the right place:
Once you have chosen a location, you can click on the share button to open the share sheet and you should see an option for the FPP localization simulator. When you tap this, the location you selected will be added to the Localization Changer app.
The app only shows the location in longitude and latitude, but you can add a tag to make it more user friendly. In our case, we’ve added the “Tokyo”tag to remind us that the location we’ve saved is in Tokyo so that we don’t have to Google the longitude and latitude to figure it out on our own:
When you’re ready to change your location to the one you saved, you can click on the location again in the Localization Changer app and select the “Start Location Modeling”option from the list:
Similarly, you can use the “Stop Location Simulation”option to end your location spoofing session.
And that’s all there is to it. If you have a TrollStore compatible device running iOS 14.0-15.4.1 (and some iOS 15.5 betas), you can use the new Localization Changer app to fake your location.
For those interested, the developer has provided the following video demonstrating how to install and use the app:
More information about the Localization Changer app is available on the developer’s GitHub page. There you will also find that the application is completely open source and anyone can learn from it.
