How to start the story mode of Splatoon 3?
To start Splatoon 3’s story mode, players need to follow the Cuttlefish underground through a sewer cover – press ZL to enter. This will immediately take you to the cut-scene of the story mode.
What is the main plot?
In Splatoon 3’s story mode, Return of the Mammals, you play as Agent 3, who is part of the new Splatoon Squidbeak. Your mission is to bring back the Great Zapfish that will power Splatsville. The cuttlefish tells you it’s the Octarians again. Take advantage of this job offer and you can save the world. You’ll also get a brand new hero costume to help you fight your enemies. That’s all! Your journey in the single player campaign will begin.

There are 74 levels in the story mode, so it can take you about 8 hours to complete the main story. If you are a completer, it may take you around 12 hours to complete the single player campaign.
