Tulipe gives jailbreakers more customization than the lock screen UI.

All the cool new things you can do with the lock screen customization in Apple’s new iOS 16 mobile operating system have left jailbreakers stuck on old firmware drooling. Of course, jailbreak developers have already ported some of these features to older firmware and devices.

But if you’re interested in even more customization than even iOS 16, then you can find satisfaction in a recently released free jailbreak tweak called Tulipe by iOS developer ElioFegh.

Tulipe’s goal is to give jailbreakers a lot of lock screen customization they wouldn’t otherwise have, and at no additional cost. While this doesn’t look like some kind of backport to iOS 16, we notice that some of the effects from iOS 16 can at least be decently reproduced in older firmware, and by that we mean colors and fonts.

In fact, once installed, the settings panel ends up in the Settings app:

Here, users will have the option to configure all of the following lock screen-focused features:

  • Enable or disable Tulipe on request
  • Set all of the following settings separately for light and dark mode:
  • Hide lock screen time
  • Hide lock screen date
  • Colorize lock screen time
  • colorize lock screen date
  • Choose your own lock screen time font
  • Choose your own lock screen date font
  • Reset lock screen time font
  • Reset lock screen date font
  • Change lock screen time format
  • Change lock screen date format
  • View supported formatting styles
  • Enable Android 12 Style Lock Screen Time Style
  • Adjust the distance between two lines
  • Choose between 12 or 24 hour time
  • Enable and set custom lock screen time size
  • Enable and customize custom lock screen date size
  • Enable and configure custom value X lock screen time
  • Enable and customize custom X date lock screen value
  • Enable and set custom Y value for lock screen time
  • Enable and set custom lock screen date Y value
  • Reset all options to default values
  • Respring your device to save all changes

Obviously, you’re getting some solid free add-on options here, so we think it’s worth checking out if you’d like to do a bit more with your lock screen’s aesthetic.

While Tulipe doesn’t provide the depth and widget features offered in iOS 16, there are options available for jailbreakers if you need those features. But if you just want to colorize or customize the font style for certain lock screen features, then this customization is great.

For those worried about compatibility, ElioFeg notes that Tulipe will work alongside jailbreak tweaks like Exiwall, ChromaFlow, Enchant, Velvet, and a few others.

If you want to try Tulipe, you can download it for free from ElioFegh’s personal repository through your favorite package management app. The tweak supports jailbroken iOS 14 devices.

Those who are not yet using ElioFegh’s personal repository can add it to their favorite package manager app using the URL below:
