Apple’s Freeform whiteboard app available for developers

The Apple Freeform app is now available for developers. It should be officially available in the next versions of Apple’s OS.

Apple teams are constantly working to improve their software. Version after version, various operating systems increase functionality, fix their bugs, close their security vulnerabilities. Applications also evolve in parallel, in the same way. New ones appear. Productivity is a very important aspect for the Cupertino company, and cooperation in particular. Freeform opens up even more possibilities.

The Apple Freeform app is now available for developers

With the first betas of iOS 16.2, iPadOS 16.2, and macOS Ventura 13.1 released a few hours ago, Apple is allowing interested developers to test their Freeform app for the first time. Announced during WWDC last June, Freeform is a whiteboard-like collaboration app with various built-in integrations into the Apple brand ecosystem.

It should be officially available in the next versions of Apple’s OS.

The software offers a “flexible canvas”to which multiple participants can add texts, photos, charts, and PDFs, among other content in a shared space. Like Google Docs and many other collaboration apps, Freeform allows teams to work together on their work in real time. You can invite someone to a Freeform session via FaceTime, with Messages keeping track of the slightest changes in a group chat.

Given its integration with the latest betas of iOS, iPadOS, and macOS, there’s a good chance that Freeform will officially launch in the coming weeks or months. These new versions of Apple branded operating systems don’t have an official release date yet, but it’s not too late. A little more patience and you will be able to try your hand at the board together with your colleagues.
