Soon you will be able to send messages to yourself on WhatsApp

The WhatsApp feature allows you to send messages to yourself from within WhatsApp because your phone number is now displayed in your saved contacts.

• What is happening? WhatsApp will show your own number as a contact so you can send a message to yourself, which you can’t do in the current version of the app.
• Why care? The new messaging feature in Meta is great for when you want to send a text message to yourself from WhatsApp for whatever reason.
• What to do? Until this feature becomes available to all users, try several ways to send someone a WhatsApp message without saving their phone number first.

Whatsapp autoresponder is in development

Now, it’s important to note that prior to this change, people could send messages to themselves on WhatsApp. It’s just that people couldn’t do it from the app.

As stated in the WhatsApp help, this feature is called “chat on click”and requires you to create an online link that will allow you to start a chat with yourself on WhatsApp. But according to WABetaInfo, Meta is currently testing self-text in WhatsApp beta 22.23.0.70 for iOS [ App Store link ] and Android.

People using the beta version of WhatsApp can now send text messages to themselves by selecting a new WhatsApp contact entry dubbed “I (You)”. How to write to yourself on whatsapp

If you have this feature, you can send messages to yourself as you would to any saved contact.

1. Start a new chat on the WhatsApp mobile app.
2. Select your “Me”card in the “Contacts”section of WhatsApp.
3. Type your message, then click the blue arrow to send it to yourself.

Any texts you send to your phone number will show up in your chat list along with conversations with friends and family, but with a different title to make them stand out. As with other messages, your own texts are automatically synced to your other linked devices when you use WhatsApp’s cross-device feature.
