Good night and good luck: based on the film by George Clooney, the series will be filmed
Six episodes are being written for the television series Goodnight and Good Luck with showrunner Jonathan Glatzer.
Developed according to AMC Networks’ “script-to-series”model, which opens up writers’ rooms to develop potential series that, if successful, will go straight into production, the TV series Goodnight and Good Luck will follow Cy Steinartner, a young cameraman at Edward’s. R. Murrow’s “See It Now”show (the protagonist of the original film of the same name), who must juggle his admiration for him and his own ambitions. As CBS executives impose an anti-communist loyalty oath on Murrow and his team, Cy gets a chance to rise straight to the top, but only by betraying his mentor. With its wit and powers of observation, the small-screen adaptation addresses how we respond to chaos and the values that allow us to navigate through it.

Dan McDermott, president of original programming for AMC Networks and AMC Studios, said:
AMC is known for its intriguing, deeply rooted characters that jump off the screen and fit in with the times. Cy Steinartner is the perfect fit for AMC icons and we look forward to developing the character and the series. We’re big fans of the storytelling prowess of Jonathan Glatzer, the directing prowess of George Clooney and Grant Heslov (and his directing abilities), and the brilliant talents of Mark Cuban, Todd Wagner and Jeff Skoll. We are excited to be working with them on this new adventure.

Jonathan Glatzer, showrunner on the television series Goodnight and Good Luck, added:
As a big fan of the movie, I didn’t want to copy it or just imitate it. So we’ve expanded the world to show how the division and hysteria of the time pervaded every aspect of everyday life. I think it’s more of an origin story of who we are today.
