Twitter Blue returns today with $11 per month via iOS. Hope this helps limit scams.
After initially failing to offer a paid account certification, Twitter is now offering an upgraded version of its Blue subscription. Twitter originally launched Blue certification for iOS devices in early November for $8 a month, but the company put the mechanism on hold after certified trolls appeared on the platform.

The company also confirmed this Saturday that the subscription price increases to $11 per month when users subscribe directly from iOS. On the web, where the 30 percent commission charged by Apple for in-app purchases does not apply, the subscription remains at $8 per month as previously announced.
In addition, the company announces new measures to prevent a repeat of last year’s incident. First, users who want to have a small blue check mark on their profile will need to link a phone number to their account after signing up for the service. Twitter adds that followers can change their nickname, visible name, and profile picture once they’ve been verified, but the company will temporarily remove the blue checkmark while the account is re-verified. “We’ve added a verification step before blue ticking an account, an additional measure to combat an impostor (which is against Twitter rules),”Twitter product manager Esther Crawford said in a thread on the platform.
Hopefully this will limit scams
As before, Twitter says that Blue followers will later get access to a number of other features, including the ability to post longer videos and see fewer ads. Meanwhile, other benefits of Twitter Blue include the ability to edit tweets and send 1080p videos.
This week, Twitter will also begin rolling out the new gold and gray checkmarks that Elon Musk announced on Nov. 25, starting with the first for business. Later, the company plans to begin rolling out gray checks for government and “multilateral”accounts. Officials will replace the “official”tag that the platform briefly tested after the launch of paid verification.
