Microsoft Bing: The next generation has a ‘much more powerful’ language model than ChatGPT
A new Bing from OpenAI appears based on artificial intelligence. How to revive the Microsoft search engine?
Microsoft’s often-unloved search engine is about to take on a new lease of life. As expected, the American giant announced a close collaboration with OpenAI to greatly improve Bing with the startup’s artificial intelligence technology. That being said, Microsoft has a pleasant surprise in store: the next version of Bing will feature a next-generation language model that, in its own words, is “much more powerful”than ChatGPT and is designed and engineered to excel in research.

To run a search engine, there is a new technology called the Prometheus Model. The benefits of Prometheus are numerous, but perhaps the most interesting is that it helps provide more relevant search results. Microsoft says this model will also make Bing more secure and allow the company to update search results faster.
This new Bing also offers chat features and an advanced search bar that allows you to enter up to a thousand characters. In a demonstration by Microsoft during the presentation, Yusuf Mehdi, director of consumer marketing at firm Redmond, asked Bing to compare the most influential Mexican artists with their most famous paintings. Bing posted their answer in a new sidebar with annotations and links. Next, Yusuf Mehdi asked the locomotive to compare three vacuum cleaners, listing their pros and cons. Bing can also with questions that don’t have specific answers. However, in cases where Bing does not know the answer to the request, the mechanism will still provide you with useful information. Microsoft is also adding a button to allow users to provide feedback on this new feature. “I view this as a study with your personal assistant”

The chat function is available if you want to use the generative power of OpenAI technology. For example, if you want to plan a trip, you can ask Bing to create an itinerary for you for a specific number of days. In response, the search engine will include links to accommodations, transportation, and activities you can do while you’re there.
This new Bing is available in preview today. According to Microsoft, anyone can go to Bing.com, test simple requests, and join the waiting list. “We will significantly expand the preview in the coming weeks,”Microsoft said. Please note that mobile preview is also coming soon.
