Sons Of The Forest All Endings Explained: The Good, the Bad, and the Secret

Like its predecessor, Sons of the Forest offers terrifying and adrenaline-filled gameplay with an exceptional storyline. But what’s more confusing is its ending, which is more of a puzzle than fighting monsters and mutants. When you complete the storyline, several endings may differ depending on your choices. How many endings are in Sons Of The Forest?

There are three endings in Sons of the Forest, and each of them depends on the choices you make throughout the game. You can get a secret ending in addition to the good or bad ending. But there are some prerequisites for getting these endings.

How to get the ending (full walkthrough)

To get to the Sons Of The Forest ending, you need to collect all three keycards scattered around the map. Basically, you need to purchase a maintenance card and a VIP card to get the Golden Armor. If you haven’t received it yet, check out our guide to the location of the Golden Armor. Once you have acquired these items, head to the last abandoned bunker. It is located on the southeast side of the map.

• From the entrance to the bunker, go inside, lighting a torch or flashlight.
• You will come across a door of the Golden Sealed Hand, which can be opened by wearing the Golden Armor.
• As soon as you open the Arm door, you will find lava splashing around the cave passage.
• You must find your way through the dark caves to reach the huge Golden Cube.
• If you can’t find your way, focus on getting to ground level without getting hit by the lava.
• When you reach ground level through the rocks and rubble, make your way to the Golden Cube.
• You will find that the leader in green is already standing inside the cube with the laptop.
• When you enter the cube, the door will close and the guy will show a ticking countdown on his laptop.
• Although the woman in silver also tries to get inside the cube, she doesn’t make it in time.
• Once the countdown ends, the man in green begins to disintegrate into multiple versions of himself.
• Then, in a moment, you will see a futuristic Ecumenopolis with flying supercars and skyscrapers.
• When the box returns to normal, you will find that the woman in silver has been transformed into a mutated large mass of flesh.

Finally, you will wake up on the beach with two endings. You can leave the island with the Man in Green and his father by boarding a rescue helicopter. Alternatively, you can stay on the island alone with mutants and other monsters. Or, finally, you can activate the secret or perfect ending.

All Sons of the Forest Endings (explained)

As mentioned earlier, your endings depend on the choices you make throughout the playthrough. The endings depend on whether you get into the helicopter and pick up your backpack on the ground or not. If you choose to leave your backpack behind and take the helicopter, you will earn the Demon Fighters achievement.

But if you decide to take the backpack, the rescue helicopter will fly off the island, leaving you alone on the island. This will reward you with the Fight Demons achievement or trophy.

How to get the secret ending

You can activate the Sons of the Forest secret ending if you manage to keep Calvin and Virginia alive. If you do this, both of your companions will also experience events or visions of the Golden Cube. Finally, both of your companions also board the rescue helicopter with you. This will earn you the “Keep Your Friends Close”achievement or trophy.
