Cookie blocker, Fitness Stats, FITIFY and other apps to try this weekend.
We made it to another weekend, everyone! That means it’s time for another app roundup of the week and we’ve got some great options for you this week. There’s a Safari web extension to block cookies, an app to aggregate your Health app’s data, and a 1-on-1 personal training partner. And, as always, we have selected an amazing game for you.
Cookie blocker
Most of you are probably familiar with the character Cookie Monster, a big furry blue puppet who loves cookies so much that he can’t stop eating them. This little utility is the opposite – it hates cookies so much that it can’t stop blocking them. In particular, it hates the pop-ups you see on every website: “this website uses cookies”and then forces you to manually set your cookie preferences. It’s basically a Safari web extension that works on all your Apple devices, but there’s an iPhone app that you can download and use to customize.
fitness statistics
Here is a beautiful and useful app that quickly collects your activity and training data to better understand your fitness progress. Fitness stats calculates totals and averages for any date range using data from the Health app, then you can easily compare these stats for two different date ranges. Think of it as a way to quickly answer questions like “how many steps did we take on our last vacation?”I love this concept, I just wish it was a little more affordable or that there was some kind of free trial.
FITIFY 1-on-1 Personal Trainer
Speaking of fitness, here’s an app for people who want to be in top shape but are looking for a different approach than a regular gym membership or online group classes. FITIFY, not FIFTY, connects you with a personal trainer who will create a weekly fitness plan tailored to your goals and lifestyle. You can train on a schedule from the comfort of your home, gym, or anywhere else, while still enjoying the benefits of a personal trainer, such as daily check-ins for tips and motivation. You choose your coach and can change him at any time.
Mighty DOOM
The name just sounds cool, doesn’t it? Mighty DUM! In any case, this is a real DOOM game created by the famous Bethesda studio. It’s a one-touch top-down shooter set in the animated DOOM universe. In it, you find yourself in the middle of a battle, pushing through hordes of demons from the fiery depths of hell. This game has loads of action, simple controls, 13 legendary weapons, upgradable and unlockable skills and weapons, epic boss battles and more. I can’t think of a better way to spend a weekend.
