Diablo 4: how to save progress
Many new players don’t understand how to save progress in Diablo 4 during the beta. They care about their character and all the weapons and armor they collect. So, for all new players, we will explain everything you need to know about saving in D4. So let’s get started.
How to save in Diablo 4
Diablo 4 will save your progress in real time as you play and requires an active internet connection. All your progress will be safe on the D4 server, even up to the last action you took in the game. Thus, there is no need to do anything manually on your part.
This feature applies to the loot you’ve collected, the items you’ve salvaged, sold, and even the number of opponents you’ve killed. But the real-time location of your character in the game is never saved on the servers. This means that every time you restart or log into the game, you start in the main city.
If you exit the game in campaign or story mode, your latest quest progress will be saved. You will not be teleported back to the part of the dungeon or location you were playing in. But the game also has a checkpoint system. If you die during the game, you can respawn at a recent checkpoint instead of your corpse. This is very useful to avoid difficult situations, for example, if you are surrounded by too many enemies.
Beta saving progress
Once the main thing to understand about the Diablo 4 beta is that all characters created this weekend will be erased after the beta testing period. However, progress will be carried over from Early Access to the Open Beta weekend. This is because the developers are still changing the game and many features are subject to change at this stage of development.
But don’t worry; All three Open Beta rewards will be available in the main game after launch if you have unlocked them. Here’s how to get them:
- Initial Sacrifice Title: Obtained by reaching Kyowashad with any character.
- Early Voyager Title: Earned by reaching level 20 with a single character.
- Beta Wolf Pack cosmetic item: Can be obtained by reaching level 20 on a single character.
