IPA Ranger is a GUI for the ipatool utility that allows you to download .ipa files from the App Store.

Back in January, we showed you a great command-line tool for macOS, Windows, and Linux called ipatool that allowed users to get raw files. ipa of any apps owned by their Apple ID through the App Store.

But for those who don’t like command line interfaces, iOS developer 0xkuj has just released a new app called IPA Ranger that compiles ipadtool into a graphical user interface. Hooray for ease of use!

When you purchase an IPA Ranger for the first time, you will be able to:

• Sign in with any Apple ID you own
• Select the country for which you want to search and download applications
• Click on any search result to copy that app’s bundle ID.
• Upload any file. ipa for any native application.
• Manage downloaded applications: install, rename, share and delete them

In the /r/jailbreak release message, the developer describes many possible use cases, which include the following:

– Applications with unsupported iOS. Are you familiar with the annoying “This app supports iOS XX and above” message when you want to download an app from the Appstore for the first time? ok, this app will help you with that. Since the app will “purchase”(only free apps, of course) an app from the App Store using the account you provided, the next time you try to download that app from the App Store, it will prompt you with a “Download”message. the latest version that supports your iOS”because it recognizes that you have purchased this app before, which is very useful in many cases. – Decryption – despite the fact that the decryption tool is not built into the IPA Ranger, you can install, for example, an unsupported file. ipa that you have downloaded on your device and use such tools, like “iridium”which don’t require you to actually open the app to give you the decrypted binary. – Just Share – you can just share the downloaded. ipa with anyone. – Additional use cases that you can think of when you get it. ipa applications.

It is worth noting that the original ipatool was downloaded for free and worked with any Mac, Windows or Linux computer. By comparison, IPA developer Ranger says the project will be available as a paid download over the next few weeks before it becomes free and open source. IPA Ranger requires a jailbroken iOS device or iPadOS 13.0-15.7.3.

For those who are skeptical about entering an Apple ID into a third-party app, the developer notes on the package description page that your Apple ID data is not saved or stored anywhere – neither on your device, nor remotely. Accounts with two-factor authentication are supported.

In case you’re wondering, the developer has tested the Ranger IPA on palera1n, unc0ver, and Taurine jailbreaks. As far as we know, XinaA15 jailbreak support is not planned as the developer does not have a compatible device to test it with.
