Filming of the series “Pirate Bay” will start this fall
The Pirate Bay series reveals some details. Filming is due to begin in the fall.
The six-episode series that tells the story of Pirate Cove, which was first announced in 2021, will go into production this fall, according to Variety. Produced by B-Reel Films, the same studio as Midsommar and independent Los Angeles-based distribution company Dynamic Television, which has just acquired international exploitation rights. So that most likely means availability in all four corners of the globe, and that’s legally. So there is no need to use a site like The Pirate Bay to watch the series.
Pirate’s Cove series reveals some details
Before streaming services became so popular, many Internet users used the Internet to download content, movies or series that they could not see in a movie theater. The Pirate Bay, a BitTorrent index that allowed users to suggest magnet links that other users could easily access, was probably the most famous place to find content at the time.
Lead writer Piotr Marchiniak describes the series as “a classic story of ups and downs, the tragedy of flying too close to the sun, but also a timeless tale of generational conflict.”In particular, we learn about the stories of co-founders Peter Sander, Fredrik Ney and Gottfried Schwartholm, who created the site and brought together a huge community. Until they become Hollywood’s number one enemy, they are hunted down by anti-piracy agents, lawyers, and Interpol, and are found guilty of facilitating intellectual property infringement and sentenced to prison.
Filming is due to begin in the fall.
But what can viewers expect? Jens Sjögren, the director, gives part of the answer: “We are divided in the face of these many perspectives – from quick shots in a basement full of computers, to conference rooms in Hollywood, offices in Washington, and the fear felt in government buildings in Stockholm, meeting Lake Geneva financiers, and finally returning to the safety of the basement. High-speed travel with heavy doses of paranoia, humor and deadly technical, emotional and political challenges.
The series doesn’t have a release date yet, but Dynamic Television will share more information during the MIPTV Media Market event in Cannes from April 17-19.
