Apple iPhone with full-screen display could arrive by 2024, analyst says

We’re already hearing rumors that Apple has reduced the size of the iPhone’s display notch, increasing the overall screen-to-body ratio. The firm is expected to introduce a tablet and a hole cut into the screen instead of a thick notch on its iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models. Naturally, one would expect the firm to further shrink the area that includes sensors and the selfie camera in the coming years. Based on this, a well-known analyst called the timeline for when to expect an “iPhone 16” with a true full screen mode.

A ‘true full-screen’ iPhone could be out in 2024

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo mentioned in his latest tweet that an iPhone without any notches and “true full screen”will arrive sooner rather than later. The appearance of such an iPhone is expected in 2024, two years later. Judging by the iPhone name, we can see the iPhone 16 series coming in 2024.

He adds that iPhones this year will switch to Face ID under the display, which will completely hide all sensors and the camera, giving users a true full-screen experience. While Kuo predicted that under-display camera technology would arrive in 2024 earlier this month, he’s leaning on it this time around to say that the same technology could lead to a full-screen iPhone. However, it is unlikely that all four iPhone 16 models will receive this feature in 2024. Kuo specifically mentions that “high-end iPhones”will get them. This could also mean that the feature may be limited to the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max.

Apple may have big plans for the iPhone 16 in 2024

In addition, Kuo states that low-light conditions can degrade the quality of the front camera. This means that the camera can rely heavily on the ISP and quality enhancement algorithms.

Interestingly, the full screen iPhone 16 in 2024 could also be completely portless. According to a recent report from the iDrop News website, the port-less iPhone could arrive in a couple of years, which is around 2024. The firm is already pushing users towards Apple Watches, AirPods, and MagSafe charging, all of which contribute to wireless reliability.
