Blizzard will host an Overwatch 2 event on June 16th.
Blizzard may also use this event to address some of the criticisms that have been raised about this first beta. In addition to the new hero Sojourn and four new maps, the beta introduced a new game mode, an improved game engine, some major changes to many heroes, and most importantly, teams that used to have 6 players and now only 5. Too much for some. a lot of changes, not enough for some.
“Overwatch as a world, as a universe, is very personal to the team; this is what we put our time, our creative energy and all our passion into,”game director Aaron Keller wrote in a letter to fans. “It can be scary to publish something that means so much, to leave it to critics. Especially when you know it’s not over yet and ask for critical and constructive feedback on your work. But the reason we’re doing it is important: to make the game better, and our players and our community make it possible.”
