Horizon Forbidden West Cinematic CGI Pre-Launch on PS5 and PS4
Sony Interactive Entertainment presents a new trailer for Horizon: Forbidden West, exclusive to Guerrilla Games.
Narrated by Ashly Burch, Aloy’s voice actor, the impressive CGI cinematic showcases the various biomes that will be found in the upcoming adventure game from Guerrilla Games, as well as showcasing many ancient mechanics and news that players may encounter: “Our story is built on our ruins. Join Aloy on her journey through the Forbidden West, a deadly frontier filled with mysterious new threats. Explore distant lands, fight bigger and more impressive machines, and meet amazing new tribes as you return to the post-apocalyptic world of Horizon. ”
The heroine Aloy also talks about her past and the lessons she learned after the events of the first part of the Horizon franchise, as she travels to different locations, showing off her acrobatic abilities and free running skills, which have already been shown in various videos. She is also seen taming the wild machine, the new mechanic. Horizon: Forbidden West is still scheduled to release on PS5 and PS4 on February 18th.
Multiple accessibility options in Horizon: Forbidden West
- General accessibility settings: “Some options are automatically enabled when the game starts, especially subtitles. You can also change its size and background for better visibility. You can select your preferred language (for audio and subtitles) when you first launch the game. In the in-game menu, you’ll find the Notebook, an extensive encyclopedia containing information about characters, vehicles, and data points around the world. We wanted to make it easy for players to find help in the game if needed, so we’ve added a separate “Tutorial”section so you can learn about game mechanics or controls.”
- Difficulty Levels: “We understand that every player wants Forbidden West difficulty to suit their needs, which is why we offer five difficulty levels to give you the experience you want. These range from a story mode that simplifies combat and lets you focus on exploration and the storyline, to a very difficult mode that offers an extreme combat experience for those who want to put their skills to the test. We also suggest that you customize your difficulty level. You will be able to adjust the amount of damage Aloy deals or receives for more flexible combat. Horizon Forbidden West focuses on hunting vehicles, as well as plundering their resources to craft ammo and upgrade gear. Many of these resources can be destroyed if they are not detached before scrapping the machine. It can be tricky, which is why we have a simple loot system. With the Easy Loot option, any resources still attached to the machine after it is destroyed will be added to its loot. This reduces the need to detach these components during combat. The system is enabled by default for Story and Easy modes, and is optional in User mode. This reduces the need to detach these components during combat. - Gamepad settings: “Aloy is a talented and agile huntress. Therefore, it is important that the controls are as intuitive and convenient as possible so that she can use all her skills. With that in mind, we offer a variety of options to make ordering as affordable as possible. In Horizon Forbidden West, commands are pre-set (including a left-handed mode), but they can be fully modified, with tips and warnings about possible conflicts. This means that you will be able to customize the action of all buttons. You can also choose between Hold and Toggle on/off when needed, and invert the X and Y axes. We’re also introducing the Copilot system, which allows you to use a second controller with inverted control. This feature simply requires a second controller (DualSense on PS5 and Dualshock 4 on PS4) and a second user profile. Copilot was implemented thanks to the feedback and support of our visually impaired accessibility consultant! In Horizon Forbidden West, you’ll also find an optional motion detection feature. Using the controller’s built-in gyroscope and accelerometer, you can make intuitive micro-adjustments while shooting for even greater accuracy. You’ll also have sliders for motion sensitivity, as well as blind spot settings for joysticks. You can also quickly switch between weapons and swap left and right stick functions for character movement and camera movement. Since the PS5 version of the game uses adaptive triggers and vibration, we have also added settings for players who are not eligible for these options. You can change the intensity of vibrations during cutscenes, movements, fights, in the user interface or in the environment, as well as turn off adaptive triggers when using weapons.“
- In-Game Help Settings: “These settings are intended to help players who are having difficulty with certain aspects of the game. Regarding weapons and combat, you will be able to, for example, adjust the idle speed when the weapon wheel (which allows you to quickly equip weapons) is activated. You can also activate aim assist. You can increase the duration of Focus, which temporarily slows down time when aiming with a bow, or even activate Auto Focus (if you have Focus left), which allows you not to activate it in the middle of a fight. are in trouble. There are other automatic settings to save you time, including Auto Sprint, Auto Heal (when your health is below 50%), and Auto Eileguid (which triggers when when you fall from a height after unlocking the skill). We also offer a setting called Climbing Annotations, Always On, which makes it easier to see climbable areas without focus. Please note that some of these automatic settings only work in Story/Easy and Custom modes. The map of Horizon Forbidden West is especially large, so we’ve added some navigation tools to help you navigate this dynamic world. You can explore the world with a few directions, or take advantage of markers to help you get to your quest destination. The same goes for waypoints, which are dynamic markers to help you navigate. For longer journeys, you can select the Drive follows route option, so that your vehicle will take you to your destination without your intervention. You can also display reminders on how to use skills, weapons, or how to get close to certain enemies. If you restart the game after turning off your console, the Story So Far screen will appear to help you get back to business. While PS4 players may encounter a loading screen from time to time (so they’ll benefit from its helpful hints), PS5 players can choose between Information Mode and Immediate Mode as the game loads much faster. hints“ The Story So Far screen will appear to help you get back to business. - Visual and audio tweaks: “Some tweaks are specifically aimed at reducing any discomfort our players experience. Visually, you’ll be able to tweak camera shake and motion blur settings, as well as tweak the entire game’s HUD to choose what information you want to see and when. You will also be able to choose the size of the subtitles and whether they will be displayed in the background or not. On the audio level, you have individual settings for music, dialogue, and sound effects. You can also enable mono audio and disable tinnitus effects, which are trigger sounds (such as screaming cars) similar to tinnitus. In the PS5 version, you can also turn down the volume of vehicle, weapon, and explosion sounds, as well as ambient sounds. This will be especially helpful for people who can’t stand overstimulation.”
