LG will prepare the production of OLED screens for the Apple iPad
LG is preparing to produce OLED panels for the iPad. An improvement that would be significant for an Apple tablet.
To date, only two Apple devices use OLED panels, the iPhone and the Apple Watch. The Cupertino-based company has made a number of changes to the screens of its other products, such as the 2021 iPad Pro, which received a mini LED bar, and the 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros.

That being said, if a recent report from The Elec is to be believed, it appears that the Apple brand is gearing up to introduce OLED panels to its iPad range. Indeed, the report claims that LG Display is currently preparing its production lines to produce OLED panels for the next generation of iPads.
At this time, it’s impossible to know exactly which iPad models will be eligible for OLED, or why Apple chose to opt for OLED over mini LED, as it has already done with some other iPads. That being said, whatever Apple chooses, it will in any case be a very welcome major improvement over the LCD panels that have always been used in the iPad.

Essentially, mini LED takes advantage of the main characteristics of OLED such as deeper blacks and better color saturation compared to LCD. This will actually be a very nice improvement for the iPads that will be eligible for this, but as stated above, at this stage no one knows which models will be eligible for these OLED panels.
The Cupertino-based company is also due to organize an event in the spring. There is a good chance that this new generation of apple tablets will be designed there. A little more patience, the event can take place in early March. To be continued!
